Poker-Spy Introduces Version 2.49

Among the programs that appear on the allowable third-party software  list at PokerStars is Poker-Spy, a fully-featured tool that specializes in real-time player profiling.  This software comes with a game tracker that alerts you of your opponent's play and shows hands mucked by your competition at showdown.  The program also includes a poker odds calculator and generates reports on the fly so you can see how well your hand fairs against any two cards.

In 2009, Poker-Spy has had four updates:
January 1: Support for the latest Full Tilt Poker update.
January 30: Support for the latest PartyPoker update.
February 16: Support for the latest PartyPoker update and Full Tilt Poker updates regarding issues with the software recognizing nicknames on some systems.
February 25: Support for the latest Absolute Poker update.

Currently, Poker-Spy supports Absolute Poker, PartyPoker, PokerStars, InterPoker, and TruePoker. In the latter, the program does not support mucked hands. As of March, 2009, Poker-Spy is not permitted on Full Tilt Poker, according to that site's support team.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Poker-Spy, it is a tracking program that differs from its main competitors in layout and function.  This software generates a window filled with real-time statistics which sits right below the table you are playing.  From there, you can open up tools such as the Odds Calculator, Graphs and Charts, Game Tracker, Alerts, Reports, and Hand Reviews.

The Odds Calculator automatically reads the hole cards while you are in a hand.  When you are playing, it will automatically count the number of outs to complete each possible hand and give you the odds of winning or chopping.  All of the odds for completing each hand are displayed and the program also calculates the odds of your best opponent holdings.  From there, you are given your hand's ranking. Many of the stat categories are color-coded for easy reference.  The Odds Calculator supports multiple tables and is displayed in its own unique window which can be placed anywhere on your desktop. The Game Tracker feature monitors all of your action at the tables.  It shows recently played hands and will even tell you what cards your opponent mucked if the hand went to showdown (this is read from the hand history file).  A new feature also shows the hands that you exposed to your opponents as well as a table aggression indicator feature. 

On the Game Tracker, you will be given player information, stats, and alerts for different situations, most commonly when an opponent starts to become aggressive.  The Game Tracker also gives you current table conditions and provides one-click access to past hands, the alert window, a player analysis report, hand review report, and player graphs and statistics.

The Alert Window gives you information in real-time about your opponents' behavior so that you can adapt your strategy.  The window will show questionable hand selections, aggressive plays, passive plays, and plays involving the blinds by providing color-coded graphics for each type.  In addition, you can match up these graphics to a running ledger of information that provides more detail.

The Reports feature provides analysis, hand summaries, a player report, and additional features.  The Analysis Report can generate pre-flop information in over 15 categories and identifies predictable patterns in opponents.  A new feature includes the Check-Raise Report also highlights hand selection errors.  The Hand Summary Report identifies losing hands, hands performing below expectations, and winning and losing players.  The Player Report will give more details stats on all players and compares how you are performing relative to others.  All reports are compatible with Excel. The Hand Review window allows a user to look back over any hand on record and includes a play-by-play feature and opponents' mucked hands.  Within this window, you can also get access to Player Reports.  Within the Player Reports are graphs, which can be generated for all players.  Colors highlight the current session and historical performances. You can pick up to six different levels of information for graphs.
